In 1957 Jack Jacobs left the royal marines and started Jacobs Handy Coaches working from Woolston Southampton. His first large coach was purchased in 1961 a 41 seater and was the first operator to organise holidays to Spain in those days of 14 day holiday cost £20! The following year was the start of weekend visits to Paris and stays to France, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland with local schools. So many trips to Spain under his belt he changed the name to Jacobs International Coaches in the following years did many local & European trips including the Dutch LaMans 24-hour race. In 1972 the company became Jacobs International coaches limited with schoolwork and private work increasing. In 1986 he purchased Trevs Travel of Fairoak Eastleigh and this is where the whole company moved to. Jack continued to work out of Eastleigh until 2007 when his daughter Jackie took over running the company. After a year she found it too much to do and Mark Jacobs merged it with J2 Coaches
